Diarrhea is a disease or a condition  where the digestive system doesn’t work properly , resulting in the frequent loose or watery stools , usually on an average , three to four times a day. The main reasons that cause diarrhea are viral infections and bacterial infections , food intolerance , consumption of contaminated foods or drinks (usually water) , anxiety, IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn’s disease and Ulcer colitis.

Rotavirus is the most common cause of diarrhoea in the world. Almost every one gets affected by diarrhea because of this virus, at least once till they reach the age of five. It usually affects infants and young children. The rotavirus has 8 species , namely : A , B , C , D , E , F , G , H. 1.Black Tea


Drink black tea sweetened with sugar and by adding a few drops of lemon juice in it. The hot water actually helps with re-hydration and tea contains astringent tannin which helps to ease the intestinal inflammation. Also , it  freshens up the body.

2. Ginger


Ginger is widely used to in the treatment of food poisoning and can also help get rid of cramps and abdominal pain. You can use ginger for diarrhoea treatment in the following ways :

  • Take a ginger slice and put it in a cup of water and boil the mixture. Afterwards strain the water and add a few drops of honey and drink it.
  • Grate a small piece of ginger and add one teaspoon of honey. Eat the mixture to promote the release of gastric juices and improve digestion. Avoid drinking water immediately after eating it.

  • Eat a cup of plain yogurt twice a day after meals.

4. Bananas

Also bananas contain a huge amount of potassium(K) which is an electrolyte responsible for the production of many vitamins in the body.

5. White Rice

This is usually suggested by doctors as white rice is very easy to digest and it actually helps to add bulk in the intestine , as a result reducing to amount of stools. Eat small amounts of plain white rice (without any added sauces and spices). Gradually increase the amount of rice as your diarrhea improves.

6. Clear fluids

In spite of the unwillingness to eat anything, drink lots of boiled and clean water,coconut water, vegetable soups so that you will stay fresh and feel energetic too.
